On April 8, during his working visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Prime Minister of Bahrain Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov thanked the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the hospitality and reminded that last time they met in Manama in February 2017 during the Russia-Bahrain Intergovernmental Commission.
"The Russian Federation attaches great importance to the interaction with the Kingdom of Bahrain. This cooperation is especially important with a view to the difficult situation in the world and in the Middle East in particular. Moscow and Manama have similar positions on a wide range of international and regional issues, as well as the desire to resolve conflict situations and confront threats. Russia maintains an intensive political dialogue with Bahrain, including at the highest level,” Minnikhanov said.
The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain stressed that Russia is strengthening its positions in the Middle East every year and this is largely due to the wise and sound policy of the President Vladimir Putin, who is respected in Arab countries. "Bahrain welcomes the development of relations between our countries, and our doors are open for mutual cooperation," he said.
Minnikhanov told the Prime Minister of Bahrain about the meetings held earlier in the Islamic Bank of Bahrain and the Mumtalakat Investment Fund. These meetings discussed the possibilities of developing partner banking in Russia, touched upon issues of sharing experience in the tax field and problems of extraction and processing of heavy sulfurous oil, Tatarstan President said.
