On July 8, speaking at a meeting with Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank on the sidelines of the INNOPROM-2019 International Industrial Trade Fair in Yekaterinburg, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in developing projects of Turkish business in the republic and is ready to provide full support in it.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Turkey is one of the leading foreign economic partners of Tatarstan. Intensive contacts provide concrete results in increasing the trade turnover, investment and joint projects, Tatarstan President noted. He added that Turkish companies have already invested about two billion US dollars in the republic.
Minnikhanov reported that a number of large Turkish factories are successfully operating in Tatarstan today, namely, Kastamonu Entegre, leading global manufacturer of the woodworking industry, Hayat Kimya, global manufacturer of consumer goods, Coşkunöz Metal Centre and many others. Work on new projects is underway.
“We are interested in various spheres of economic cooperation with Turkey, including power engineering, petrochemistry, machine-building and automotive industry, IT and other high technologies, healthcare, construction, agriculture and tourism,” Minnikhanov emphasized.
In his turn, Varank thanked the leadership of Tatarstan for supporting Turkish companies, implementing their projects in the republic.
“We must continue our cooperation and increase trade and economic ties. Each of the two parties should only benefit from this process. Turkish manufacturing enterprises and construction companies are successfully operating in Tatarstan. We have a great potential for developing cooperation,” Varank added.
