On August 23, at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Centre during the WorldSkills Kazan-2019, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of Switzerland Guy Parmelin.
The Swiss delegation arrived in Kazan to take part in the events of the 45th WorldSkills Competition.
Minnikhanov thanked Parmelin for sending a representative delegation to take part in the competition in Kazan. As many as 41 athletes, 43 experts and 9 technical specialists represent Switzerland at the competition.
According to Minnikhanov, Tatarstan is interested in developing cooperation with Switzerland as part of Russian-Swiss relations. Today, representatives of the Swiss business work with Tatarstan companies in such areas as pharmaceutical industry, construction, compressor manufacturing and utility equipment.
“Our trade turnover is still small to make 112 million US dollars. However, I believe that we have the necessary potential for developing trade and economic ties,” Tatarstan President added.
In his turn, Parmelin, noted the high level of organization of the WorldSkills Compatition in Kazan.
