Tatarstan President: It is necessary to significantly increase the financial guarantees of tour operators for internal and incoming tourism

On October 4, at the Kazan City Hall, speaking at a meeting of the Council under Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District on the development of internal and incoming tourism chaired by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is a Сo-Сhairman of the Council working group, proposed increasing significantly the financial guarantees of tour operators for internal and incoming tourism.

Minnikhanov emphasized that the minimum financial guarantee for tour operators is currently only 500,000 roubles. At the same time, the turnover of companies that involved in internal and incoming tourism exceeds tens and even hundreds of millions of roubles.

He also emphasized that the dynamically developing sphere of tourism requires constant improvement of federal legislation. Thus, the lack of legal regulation of the work of tour guides, guide-interpreters and instructors-guides has resulted in incompetent specialists in the tourism market, a significant lowering of the quality of service and in some cases to a decrease in the level of tourist safety.
