Rustam Minnikhanov meets new Consul General of Turkey in Kazan
On October 9, at the Government House of the republic, at his meeting with new Turkey’s Consul General in Kazan Ismet Erikan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Erikan on the appointment to a new responsible position. He noted that Tatarstan has always supported the initiatives to develop cooperation with Turkish partners aimed at strengthening relations between Russia and Turkey.
Minnikhanov emphasized that Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. In 2018, the trade turnover exceeded 314 million US dollars.
“I am sure that our joint work will further strengthen relations between Tatarstan and Turkey,” Tatarstan President added.
Erikan took the office of Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan on the 1st of October 2019. His predecessor Ahmet Sadyk Dogan resigned in July this year.
