On October 15, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin welcomed the participants of the first International Sichuan Forum of the Heads of Twin Regions and Twin Cities under the Belt and Road Initiative, held in the city of Chengdu, the People’s Republic of China.
The forum is aimed at deepening the relations between twin regions and twin cities and developing bilateral practical cooperation.
Speaking at the Forum, Pesoshin emphasized that Russian-Chinese relations have reached a high level primarily due to the strategic leadership of the heads of states - China and Russia.
“This year, the People’s Republic of China celebrates the 70th founding anniversary. Please accept my sincere congratulations and wishes of further successful development and prosperity to China. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries. I am pleased to note that 2019 and the next 2020 are declared the Years of Interregional Cooperation between our countries,” Pesoshin said.
Tatarstan Prime Minister expressed confidence that holding of the International Sichuan Forum in Chengdu will contribute to further development of mutually beneficial relations and the implementation of joint projects.
“I wish the participants, guests and organizers of the forum fruitful work, new business contacts and success! Today we have a good opportunity to discuss the state and prospects for the development of Tatarstan-Chinese relations aimed at strengthening cooperation between Russia and China,” Pesoshin addressed the participants and guests of the forum.
