Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the National Unity Day

Dear citizens of Tatarstan! From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on the National Unity Day.

Once again, we pay tribute to the feat of our ancestors, who defeated the subtle enemies and restored the honour, dignity and state unity of the Motherland in incredibly difficult historical conditions.

The experience of history teaches us that the unity of the peoples of Russia is an irresistible force. This was the cases in 1612 on the field of Poltav battle,  during the Napoleon's invasion and the World War II.

This unity was forged not only in battles. The establishment of a powerful economy, the construction of cities and villages, the development of social infrastructure, the generally recognized achievements in science and culture are all the results of the work of many generations of Russians, representatives of all ethnicities and faiths of our country.

Tatarstan has always been at the centre of major achievements. The upcoming 100th anniversary of the TASSR, all the republic is actively preparing to, once again demonstrates this.

And now we are rightfully proud that Tatarstan is one of the dynamically developing regions of multinational Russia, and Kazan has turned into a modern, truly European city, where decent living and working conditions are created, where many guests come with pleasure.

Interethnic and inter-religious peace and harmony are the solid foundation of all these achievements. We are in position to maintain this time-tested unity, not to allow anyone to bring seeds of distrust and discord into our lives.

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

On this holiday, I sincerely wish you peace, kindness and prosperity, new achievements for the prosperity of our great Motherland and native Tatarstan.
