New Year Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov
Dear citizens of Tatarstan!
From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the coming New Year!
Waiting for the New Year chime of bells at the festive table with close people, we traditionally recollect the most meaningful events, hopefully make plans for the future.
It is gratifying that 2019 has been a successful year for our republic. New investments and production facilities, comfortable housing, modern education and science, healthcare, culture and sports facilities, a comfortable environment - all this is the result of the creative work of each of us.
We successfully held the 45th WorldSkills Competition in Kazan. The Tatarstan team won the national championship in vocational professions. The potential and legacy of the world championship gained during the Year of Vocational Professions have significantly expanded our opportunities in preparing highly qualified competitive personnel for the economy.
The appreciation of the development of the republic and the KAMAZ domestic automobile plant given by our national leader Vladimir Putin at a recent event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the enterprise, emphasize the importance and significant contribution of Tatarstan to strengthening the power of the Russian Federation.
Effective public-state cooperation, the development of civil society institutions, the consistent implementation of the sound national policy, and fruitful cooperation with traditional religious associations have become the key to our success.
We regard the results of the election of people’s deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan as the support of the ongoing reforms and the appraisal of the activities of the authorities. Formed by the results of the national vote, the new parliament has been actively involved in the legislative activity.
In the new year, we will continue to work to improve the quality of life of people under the regional and national projects.
The implementation of the Our Yard new project is aimed at creating a comfortable living environment for Tatarstan residents. The yards of all multi-apartment houses will be landscaped in three years under this project.
I am sure that in the Year of Memory and Glory declared in the country in connection with the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Tatarstan people will take an active part in the preparation and celebration of this holy day for all of us. The Great Victory and the No one is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten thesis are the value guidelines that we should follow in our daily work with veterans and in the patriotic education of children and youth.
The milestones of the long road, the contribution of our compatriots to the formation and development of our native republic will be in the centre of our attention during the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Large-scale events are aimed at contributing to the further development of Tatarstan based on the rich historical and cultural heritage, interaction with representatives of all peoples and integration into Russian statehood.
An important socio-political event of the coming year will be the election of people’s deputies of representative bodies of municipalities and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. I am sure that the election campaigns will be open, constructive and that practical initiatives and proposals will be put forward to improve the quality of life both at the local level and across the republic.
Of course, the outgoing year brought us not only the joy of accomplishment, many unresolved issues still remain. However, I am sure that there are no difficulties that we cannot overcome together. Unity and faith in our own forces allow us and the entire Tatarstan to move forward, to open up new opportunities and development horizons.
