Rustam Minnikhanov inspects the readiness of Kazan Federal University for shifting to online learning

On March 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Kazan Federal University to inspect the readiness of the university for shifting to distance learning.

On the 19th of March, among other regional universities Kazan Federal University shifted to online learning.

Rector of the University Ilshat Gafurov informed Minnikhanov that all 44,000 students have shifted to distance learning. Instructions for the use of distance education tools have been developed for teachers and students. Everyone has a user account in the Electronic University system. Currently, more than 1.7 thousand digital educational resources are availvable on KFU's own educational platform.

Minnikhanov visited classrooms, watched online lectures, looked around the EduTech Centre for Digital Educational Technologies and talked to teachers and students. Teachers told Tatarstan President about the possibilities of educational platforms, some of which can be used in offline mode. Minnikhanov suggested considering the possibility of their use in schools.

Tatarstan President also advised students to use their free time as productively as possible, in particular, for self-education.
