Rustam Minnikhanov holds online discussion with the self-employed on support measures in the current economic situation

On April 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a videoconference with the self-employed citizens operating in the republic.

The self-employed, relevant ministers, representatives of the largest banks also took part in the online meeting.

One of the key requests of the self-employed in the current economic situation is to make this category of citizens equal with representatives of small and medium-sized businesses that they could benefit from the concessions and privileges introduced by the state.

During the online meeting, representatives of service industry asked permission to resume their core business. In particular, they asked about the work of beauty salons.

Tatarstan President emphasized that the regional headquarters for combating coronavirus is now analyzing the situation and will introduce all acceptable options.

At the same time, Minnikhanov drew the attention of the meeting participants to the fact that any such permissions are possible only under the strictest observance of Special sanitary and epidemiological measures.

“In this matter, people's health comes first,” Tatarstan President said.

In addition, the self-employed asked to help them with the sale of products that are in demand today. Thus, among the self-employed there are those who have re-trained in sewing medical masks. There are enterprises ready to purchase personal protective equipment.

Minnikhanov instructed the Agency for State Order of Tatarstan to consider the issue and provide an appropriate list of goods and products that the self-employed could organize sales of products.

Minnikhanov emphasized that at the regional level, Tatarstan Government established a working group that monitors and analyzes the current situation, the financial and economic situation of all enterprises, including small and medium ones. The group works in close interaction with federal authorities.
