23 April 2020, Thursday

On April 23, speaking at the ninth meeting of the State Council of Tatarstan, via videoconference, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is necessary to identify the most vulnerable segments of the population at the moment and what authorities can do to help them.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin made a report on the results of work of the regional government in 2019.

Minnikhanov reminded that charity events are held in the republic to support various categories of citizens. “We ask everyone for help. The Government has developed certain measures to support socially vulnerable segments of citizens. Moreover, medical workers should be supported. Various support actions are implemented in the republic and I wish they are not spontaneous. A lot of large companies render assistance,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Speaking about the fight against a new coronavirus infection, Tatarstan President also emphasized that the situation in the republic is “very difficult and tense” at the moment, therefore it is important to organize work correctly.

According to Minnikhanov, it is important to rely on our own resources in such a situation. “We should rely on our own resources. The federal centre will certainly render support, however we should organize work with our business community in the republic. And  the people’s deputies should head this work. It is important to contact with people. The main thing is to observe all protective measures,” Tatarstan President reminded.

He called on all members of the State Council of Tatarstan to observe precautions to fight the spread of coronavirus infection and to show patience.
