Rustam Minnikhanov attends workshop of KAMAZ Automaker in Naberezhnye Chelny and the infectious diseases hospital unit after major repair

On April 29, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit in Naberezhnye Chelny. 

Upon his arrival, Tatarstan President accompanied by Director General of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin got acquainted with the production of special anti-epidemic costumes, launched in one of the workshops of the KAMAZ.

In addition, the production of protective masks, disinfectants was launched at the plant. All manufactured products are used by the auto giant and are also donated to medical institutions. On April 27, as many as 7,800 protective suits and over 57,700 masks were produced. A total of 45 people are involved in the sewing area.

“Today, it is especially important to ensure the safety of labor staff. The KAMAZ is an example of a serious approach to preventing the spread of coronavirus infection. Large enterprises are at risk, we are already fixing sites of infection at some facilities. It is unacceptable. I repeat: senior managers are personally responsible for the safety and health of people. I urged Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being in Tatarstan to strictly monitor the situation and hold such senior managers accountable,” Minnikhanov said.

During his working trip, Tatarstan President also visited the Naberezhnye Chelny Infectious Diseases Hospital. The capital rapair of building “B” (blocks B1 and B2) of the infectious diseases hospital was launched here in May 2018. To date, the work in block B2 has been completed; medical equipment, furniture, and other equipment for block B2 have been purchased. Two floors of the infectious, diagnostic and disinfection-sterilization departments are operating.

Repair of block B1 is underway. Minnikhanov was informed that the capital repair is scheduled to be completed by May, 15. Tatarstan President instructed to organize work seven days a week to commission the facility as scheduled.
