"On 27th of May 1920, a decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic “On the Autonomy of the Tatar Socialist Soviet Republic” was signed in Moscow.
⠀
This significant date marked the revival of the statehood of the Tatar people in new historical conditions and became the starting point of the progressive development of the region.
⠀
Towards the end of the Soviet period, Tatarstan represented one of the most advanced republics of the Soviet Union with a gross product exceeding all three Baltic republics.
⠀
The republic is known as a region of oil production and refining, one of the key players in the petrochemicals, machine and aircraft building, scientific and educational center, as well as one of the leaders in agricultural production.
⠀
Tatarstan is a major participant in international cooperation, occupies a leading position in the rating of investment attractiveness, and is increasingly becoming the entry point of foreign companies onto the Russian market.
⠀
High international authority of Tatarstan is evidenced by the development of contacts within the Russia-Islamic World strategic vision group, the organization of UNESCO conferences in the republic, forums of cities and municipalities of the BRICS countries, and the KazanSummit international forum.
⠀
Kazan began to be considered the country's sports capital, and the republic - a large attractive tourist center - the flow of its guests increased from 1.4 million in 2010 to more than 3.5 million tourists in 2019.
⠀
On the day of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Decree on the formation of the Autonomous Tatar Republic, I congratulate you on the centennial of your native republic and express gratitude to all who have made and continue to contribute to the prosperity of our native Tatarstan.
⠀
We were lucky to be born, live and be useful to our people in our motherland, covered with the spirit of the great achievements of our ancestors. A creative centennial historical path is the subject of our pride and confidence in the future!"
