Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Russia Day

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the main national holiday – the Russia Day!

In the new historical conditions associated with the development of polycentricity and the growing international tension, the Russian Federation is demonstrating the strengthening of its position. Visible changes in the economy and social sphere, successful overcoming of the challenges connected with the spread of coronavirus infection, strengthening the country's power ensuring the authority of the Russian Federation, are sources of pride and confidence in the future.

Russia has always been a unique community of peoples, cultures and religions. This civilizational way makes us stronger and more competitive, helps us to pursue a sovereign policy. Our country is based on a rich history of dedication and steadfastness, victories and great achievements.

Tatarstan citizens inscribed glorious examples of martial prowess and labor heroism into the history of the World War II. In the Year of Remembrance and Glory, we pay tribute to the memory and express gratitude to all front-line soldiers, rear veterans, prisoners of fascist camps, children of war, each of whom contributed to the common victory.

In the Year of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, we celebrate the glorious milestones of the development of the native republic, its significant role in the history of the country.

Our achievements are based on the work of many generations of Tatarstan people, the support of the federal centre and our national leader Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Today Tatarstan is an advanced and economically successful region that consistently supports the policy of improving the lives of citizens and building strong Russia.

The upcoming nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation is aimed at becoming a new impetus for the development of the country as a social state where the main value and wealth is the human being.
