Congratulation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Tatar ASSR

Dear Tatarstan citizens! Dear compatriots!

From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the significant anniversary - the 100th anniversary of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic! Exactly a century ago, on June 25, 1920, with the transfer of all power to the Provisional Revolutionary Committee, the decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic on the establishment of the Tatar Autonomous Socialist Soviet Republic was implemented. This is one of the crucial landmarks in the history of the Tatar and the entire multinational people of the republic, which marked the beginning of modern Tatarstan.

The establishment of heavy industry, advanced aircraft and shipbuilding, the national automobile flagship KAMAZ Automaker, the efficient development of the agricultural industry, the development of the “big oil” and the establishment of the petrochemical complex, the organization of world-class scientific and educational centres and outstanding cultural achievements are inscribed in in the glorious chronicle of the republic in golden letters.

In the Year of Remembrance and Glory, we bow our heads to the military and labor feat of the Tatarstan people during the years of the World War II. The generation of winners was a model of persistence, heroism and self-sacrifice. Having defended the independence of the Motherland and having saved the world from fascism, yesterday's front-line soldiers and home front workers restored the country and created a powerful foundation for further development.

Already in the postwar years, due to selfless work, Tatar autonomy became one of the most advanced republics of the Soviet Union. Having successfully passed the difficult stage of changing formations and establishing a new statehood, Tatarstan preserved the production complex and created the conditions for the implementation of large-scale social programmes and projects with the support of the federal centre.

Today Tatarstan is one of the dynamically developing, supporting regions of Russia, which makes a significant contribution to strengthening the power and defense capability of the Fatherland, and consistently supports the course of our national leader Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin towards building a strong Russia.

We are grateful to all generations of Tatarstan people who have made a significant contribution to the establishment and development of their native republic. Our success is based on the rich heritage of our ancestors, interethnic and interfaith harmony, powerful production potential and aspiration for the future. Tatarstan is a matter of our pride and confidence in the future!
