On January 23, during a working visit to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the experimental-industrial production facilities of the KAMAZ scientific and technical centre and looked around samples of KAMAZ new cargo equipment, namely the dump truck, the methane engine vehicle, tractors and others.
Tatarstan President also looked around a new Kama-1 electric car, developed by KAMAZ Automaker in cooperation with the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The smart crossover has an intelligent driver assistance system and is equipped with a lithium-ion battery. The electric motor is capable of speeding up to 150 kilometers per hour, without charging the power for 250 km.
Minnikhanov drove a new electric car and highly assessed the technical characteristics of Kama-1.
Now the electric car is in the status of an industrial pre-production model, has passed tests and all the necessary certification.
