On February 24, at their meeting in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral Kyrgyz-Tatarstan relations.
On January 10, Zhaparov was elected in early elections of the Head of the republic.
Zhaparov emphasized that the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Tatarstan share a similar culture, close languages, similar religion, common traditions that need to be maintained. He also said that Kyrgyzstan is very pleased to see the progress of Tatarstan, which today is one of the most developed regions of Russia.
Zhaparov thanked Minnikhanov for his personal interest in the development and promotion of bilateral Kyrgyz-Tatarstan relations.
Tatarstan President emphasized that it is very important to maintain mutual friendly and efficient contacts between the parties. Minnikhanov congratulated Zhaparov on assuming the post of Kyrgystan President and invited him to visit Tatarstan.
