II All-Russian Urban Games started in Kazan

The II All-Russian Urban Games have started in the Kazan extreme park "URAM". On July 10-11, participants will compete for 63 sets of awards in 6 sports.

At the beginning of the opening ceremony, Irina Praskanova, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Mass Sports of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, conveyed greetings to the participants from the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin.

"Dear friends, on behalf of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and myself, I welcome the participants, organizers and guests of the II All-Russian Urban Games. The introduction of the population to systematic physical education and sports, the formation of values of a healthy lifestyle is a priority task of our state. The federal project "Sport is the norm of life" is aimed at these purposes. The holding of the II All-Russian Urban Games will contribute to the development of competitive and spectacular sports, attract talented young people to healthy motor activity.

I am convinced that these competitions will be held at a high organizational level and will be remembered for the friendly atmosphere that the Republic of Tatarstan invariably demonstrates during various competitions. I wish the participants of the II All-Russian Urban Games exciting emotions, vivid impressions and well-deserved victories."

Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Damir Fattakhov noted that Kazan is glad to host such a sports festival.

"We are proud to talk about the URAM Park, a place that was invented, built, and is now managed by the youth of the Republic of Tatarstan. There was no park without her. We are sincerely glad to hold the II All-Russian Urban Games in Kazan! Thanks to our friends from the Ministries of Sports of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, thanks to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov for supporting our initiative in this difficult time. Let the strongest win, but we are glad for such a sports holiday!"

Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Sadriev expressed hope that the tradition of holding All-Russian Urban Games in Kazan will continue.

"The leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan is doing a lot to ensure that residents are engaged in sports. The holding of the Games in Kazan suggests that this is the most sporty region of the country. Only alga, go ahead!"

State Duma deputy, Honored Coach of Russia Olga Pavlova wished good luck to cyclist Irek Rizaev, who will soon represent Russia at the Tokyo Olympics.

"A few years ago, few people would have thought that breakdancing, skateboarding or 3-on-3 basketball would crowd Olympic sports. But this is a request of young people, and it forms the Olympic program. In Tokyo, I will be rooting for Irek Rizaev, who, I think, will win an award for Tatarstan and Russia. Thank you all for playing sports. I wish you good emotions!"

Alexey Khomyakov, Deputy General Director of the Russian Physical Culture Society "Locomotive", also made a welcoming speech, congratulating the participant on the opening of the Games.
