The volunteer program of the FIVB 2022 Volleyball World Championship among men's teams was presented at the International Forum of Civic Participation #MYVMESTE, which took place from December 2 to 5 in the Moscow Manege.
No major sporting event is complete without the help of volunteers. They help to solve a huge number of organizational issues, create an unforgettable atmosphere and image of the host party, as well as the necessary mood for participants and a sense of celebration for guests and its viewers.
"Volunteers are the face of the championship, the face of the competition. Volunteers are often the first to be met by fans, athletes, and journalists. The very first impressions about the host country and about the tournament as a whole depend on how the volunteer will meet, how he will smile, at what level his foreign language is, how and what he will tell guests from other countries or athletes - the help of volunteers is very important," said Roman Stanislavov, Director General of ANO Organizing Committee Volleyball 2022.
More than 30,000 candidates are expected to register, from which 3,500 volunteers will be selected. All of them will be involved in 18 functional areas from accreditation and organization of competitions to broadcasting and transport. When registering for the program, volunteers will be able to initially choose the directions they are interested in.
The tournament will be held from August 26 to September 11, 2022 in 10 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Yaroslavl, Kazan, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk. The Organizing Committee cooperates with the Association of Volunteer Centers (ABC), which unites volunteer organizations throughout the country. The ABC will assist in the promotion and implementation of the Program, as well as in supporting volunteer centers in the regions.
