2 January 2022, Sunday

The crews of the KAMAZ-master team are ready to participate in the legendary Dakar-2022 race, which started in Saudi Arabia on the first of January.

Riders will have to pass 12 stages. The length of the route will be 8375 kilometers, of which 4258 kilometers are special stages. Yesterday, a 19–kilometer prologue of the Dakar-2021 race took place along the Jeddah - Hail route, and today a ceremonial start and the first ring stage (334 km of a special stage) are planned in Hail.

Note that this year the rally marathon has become more "sandy" and will be held away from the Red Sea coast. Of the twelve stages of the competition, three are completely laid in the dunes. One of them will be a marathon stage, where any third-party technical assistance is prohibited. About 80 percent of the rally marathon will be held in new places.
