Professional calligrapher Artur Pisarenko, a student of the famous hattat, founder and director of the Center for Arabic Calligraphy and Islamic Arts "An-Namir al-Muhattat", began writing the first surah of the Holy Book "Fatihi" in the Kul Sharif Mosque.
As the Mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin noted in his speech, the experience of preparing a handwritten Mushaf in the modern world exists in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, Morocco, and Pakistan. Now Kazan has taken up such a development.
Specialists will have to turn to primary sources, scientific research, double-check each letter, and vocalization for the accurate and error-free spelling of certain words. At the same time, in addition to the correct and artistic spelling of words and letters in Mushaf, it is important to remember their legibility, since non-Arab readers may not understand Arabic script.
The handwritten Quran will be ready in two years — it takes two days to create one page.
