On 24 January Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is on a short-term business visit to Kazakhstan, had a meeting with the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev.
At the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov said he was grateful to Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev for the possibility to discuss spheres of cooperation and implementation of a number of projects and told the Kazakhstan President about the development of a number of investment projects and the plans to increase the interaction with Kazakhstan partners.
In his turn, welcoming Minnikhanov, Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev said that Tatarstan takes an important place in multi-faceted relations with the Russian Federation. The results of the trade turnover with the republic made 423m dollars in 11 months of 2021, he said.
He added that the republic is the leader among other entities of the Russian Federation in the level of economic, industrial and technological cooperation with Kazakhstan.
Tokayev went on saying the implementation of the 1.8bn dollars machine building projects with participation of the KAMAZ Automaker and Tatneft Oil Companies are the bright example of such cooperation. There is also active work in construction of three KAMAZ spare parts and Tatneft tire producing plants in Kostanay and Karaganda regions of the country.
The Kazakhstan President brought to notice that even though there was a new Government in the country, the succession goes on and the Kazakhstan administration will continue supporting the KAMAZ and the Tatneft projects.
Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev stressed that the country will continue ensuring all necessary conditions for comfortable work of investors, including those from Tatarstan.
Kazakhstan President also told Minnikhanov about large scale economic reforms and concrete development programs going on in the country that will open additional possibilities for implementation of joint projects with Tatarstan.
Director General of the Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov and the Director General of the KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin, who also took part in the meeting, reported about the joint projects implemented in Kazakhstan and presented prospects for further cooperation in a number of spheres.
