In 2021 small oil companies produced about 20 percent of the total oil production of the republic

Speaking at a meeting held in the Government House of the republic about results of work of regional small oil companies  in 2021, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who presided the meeting, said that  524.tonnes of oil were produced in Russia last year which was by 2.2 per cent more than during the previous year.

“In Tatarstan oil production grew by 5.8 per cent compared to 2020 and reached 34.5 tonnes, including 27.4m tonnes produced by the Tatneft and 7.1m tonns be small oil companies,” he said and added that “small oil companies have paid 154bn roubles into all levels of the budget.

Speaking about compliance with industrial and ecological safety requirements by small oil companies, the Head of the Volga region Department of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision Azat Mubarakshin reported that after having carried out 106 surveys in 2021, the department revealed 1119 violations.

The Chief Engineer of the Oil Consortium of Small Oil Companies Oleg Vyshenskiy reported that the oil production by the companies remains at the level of 20 percent from the total amount of oil production in the republic with 276 new wells launched into operation in 2021 and added that the plan is to start operating more than 150 new wells in 2022.

He said that in 2021 the companies fulfilled the planned amount of capital investments which made 14.2bn roubles and are planning to maintain the same amount in 2022.

Rustam Minnikhanov underlined that “the main task is to ensure reliable operation of our economy. The oil industry is the foundation of our economy”.

He also stated that it was important to staff the branch with highly qualified specialists and the Tatneft Company was working to establish the Higher Oil School. Minnikhanov also outlined training of specialists in geological exploration and said it is necessary to start their training already at school.

He asked to support the regional Young Geologists movement as “this will make it possible to train specialists who are in demand in the oil branch”.
