On 18 March in Kazan Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the Olympic figure skating champion Kamila Valiyeva, who was born in Kazan in 2006 and moved to Moscow in 2012, and her mother Alsu Valiyeva.
Tatarstan President expressed his support to Valiyeva, saying that in the Olympic Games in Beijing she put on a stellar solo performance and proved high training degree. He underlined that the sport achievements of Kamila are a perfect example for the beginning athletes. In the end of the meeting he handed in Kamila Valiyeva a “Duslyk” order and a medal of “100 years of the Establishment of TASSR” to her mother.
