Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in connection with the International Women's Day.

“Dear women! I sincerely congratulate you on International Women’s Day March 8.

This wonderful holiday comes to us with the first rays of the gentle spring sun and a ringing drop, warming hearts tired of the winter cold and inspiring men to noble deeds in the name of lovely and beautiful ladies.

Every time, preparing for International Women's Day, we are imbued with lofty feelings for our dear and beloved grandmothers, mothers, wives, sisters and daughters.

A woman is a whole world where there is always a place for tenderness, love and beauty, high maternal feelings, a careful attitude to the hearth and a touching participation in the life of family and friends.

The very nature liberally awarded you the best qualities that you generously share with others. A kind, caring mother gives us life, instilling love and respect for the native language, a cozy home, customs and traditions of our ancestors from an early age.

Our women are successful and talented in everything. This great country is rightly proud of the victories of its magnificent athletes at the recent 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. With special excitement, we all “cheered” for our young figure skater, a native of Kazan, Kamila Valieva, who, in my deep conviction, has a bright sports future.

We have great respect and appreciation for our women - medical and social workers, educators and teachers, who, by defeating the attacks of the insidious pandemic, just like men, protect the health of citizens helping them in difficult conditions and educate the young generation of Tatarstan citizens.

With special awe and filial respect, I would like to congratulate our heroic women veterans on International Women's Day, who bore the burden of the most terrible war in the history of mankind on their fragile shoulders, who participated in the post-war revival of the country and the construction of a new life. You will always be an example of perseverance, loyalty and patriotism for us.

Let this bright, life-affirming holiday bring all of you, dear women, as much joy, positive mood, inspire in you optimism and confidence in the future!
