Tatarstan President has a meeting with the Administration of the Al-Rais Tourist Company
On 29 March at their meeting on the sidelines of the AIM in Dubai Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and the administration of the Al-Rais Tourist Company discussed development of cooperation between the republic and the company, which was established in1977 and is one of the most reliable and authoritative tourist brands in the UAE.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said that today the republic has a very high tourist and recreation potential and there are unique national, cultural and historical heritage sites, including three UNESCO World Heritage sites in Tatarstan. The region holds large economic, sports and cultural events. “We consider the tourism industry to be one of the most important branches of economy of our republic”, he said.
Minnikhanov also informed that Tatarstan is the northernmost part of the Muslim world and this year it organizes festive celebrations of 1100th anniversary of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
He said that 3.3m tourists visited the republic last year and large work is being done in development of tourist infrastructure and direct flights. “We have very good experience of working together with the UAE, and the Fly Dubai Company has been flying to Kazan for many years. We would be glad to cooperate with your Al-Rais Company” Minnikhanov concluded.
The participants of the meeting also discussed promising spheres of further interaction.
Acting Director of the Tatarstan Investments development Agency Insaf Galiyev, Trade and Economic representative of the republic in Dubai Timur Khayrutdinov and the Chairman of the Tatarstan State Committee on Tourism Sergey Ivanov also took part in the meeting.
