The finals of the Koresh World Cup will be held as part of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam in Bulgaria

From May 18 to 22, the Koresh Belt Wrestling World Cup will be held in three stages: the Cup qualification competitions are held in Moscow, preliminary matches in Kazan, and the finals and celebrations will be held on May 21 in Bolgar as part of the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by Volga Bulgaria.

The honorary guests of the tournament's celebrations will be Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Adviser of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and other guests.

More than 160 athletes from more than 25 countries of the world take part in the 2022 Koresh World Cup. Athletes compete in 11 weight classes including the absolute category.

The celebrations and the final matches of the tournament will take place on the territory of the Bulgarian Museum-Reserve on May 21 at 12:00.
