In his address on the occasion of Kurban-Bayram Holiday Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said:
“Dear Tatarstan residents! Dear compatriots! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you with the blessed feast of sacrifice Kurban-Bayram – Id El Adha.
Today bright thoughts and humble prayers of Muslims all over the world are with special awe addressed to the All-forgiving Allah, who gave us the way to piety and rescue.
Kurban is a sacred commandment of the All Mighty holy imprinted in our noble hearts. The worshipful Quran teaches people to serve God, be kind “with parents and close relatives and orphans and those in need”, with everyone surrounding us. In our difficult times this human qualities are especially important and needed.
This year the feast has a special meaning due to the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of adopting Islam by the Volga Bulgaria.
Many of us witnessed and participated in really historical events commemorating this noble jubilee. Adoption of Islam in 922 by ancestors of Tatars to a great extent predefined the shaping of unique Russian civilization which combines traditions of the West and the East and made us an inseparable part of the vast Muslim world.
Today praising the Allah most merciful for his boundless mercy we remember with gratitude good deeds of those who stood at the dawn of faith and for many centuries led our people along the path shown by the All Mighty. So let the sacred Kurban-Bayram open us new spiritual horizons and give us strength for creative work and defense of our Motherland!
From the bottom of my heart I wish all of you peace, the good, well-being and help of the All Mighty in all your blessed endeavors. Happy holiday, my friends!”
