Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Day of the Constitution of Tatarstan

Dear Tatarstan citizens!

I sincerely congratulate you on the Constitution Day of the Republic of Tatarstan!

The adoption of the Basic Law on November 6, 1992 laid the foundation for the political structure and socio-economic development of the republic, ensured the coherence of the work of the entire system of state authorities and local self-government.

At the change of the epochs, the Constitution of Tatarstan, reflecting the will of the multinational people of the republic, guaranteed broad rights and freedoms of citizens, became a solid foundation for social development, interethnic and interfaith peace and civil harmony.

The past three decades have confirmed the high importance of the Basic Law in preserving and developing the historical, national and spiritual traditions, cultures and languages of all peoples living in the republic.

Today, Tatarstan continues to confidently move forward and, being one of the key regions of the country, makes a significant contribution to strengthening the statehood, defense capability and power of the Russian Federation. The high rate of development allows us to improve the quality of life of citizens, create comfortable environment in cities and villages, build housing, develop industry, medicine, education and science, support talented youth and fulfill all the social obligations.

Based on the fundamental norms and provisions of the Basic Law, concern for the human being has become a top priority in the activities of all the authorities of the republic. Under the unprecedented pressure, the consolidating role of the Constitution of Tatarstan, which teaches us to be patriots of our Motherland and our native republic, is especially significant. Rallying around the national leader Vladimir Putin, we will continue the course of strengthening the unity of the country and together we will overcome the emerging challenges.
