On 29 November, speaking at the Tatarstan- Azerbaijan business forum , which gathered representatives of large industrial enterprises and businesses from both republics, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who came on a business trip to Baku, said: “There is a significant potential for expanding our interaction between our republics in supplying produce of petrochemical and machine-building branches of Tatarstan, developing relations in the spheres of investments and innovative production, high technologies, ship and car building, healthcare and production of medical items and pharmaceuticals, as well as in cooperation of our chambers of commerce”.
Tatarstan President expressed his gratitude to the administration of Azerbaijan for personal participation in strengthening cooperation.
In his turn Azeri Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Abdulla oglu Mustafayev stated that Tatarstan steadily occupies the leading place among economic partners of his country. “Due to the political will of leaders of our countries, relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have a strategic character and cover all spheres of activity. Inter-regional relations are a priority for us and Tatarstan is among the top ten of our trade partners. We expect that by the results of this year our trade turnover will grow multi-fold”, he said.
In the end of the forum Tatarstan and Azerbaijan Chambers of Commerce signed an agreement. Tatarstan Chamber also signed an agreement with the Azerbaijan Agency of Development of Small and Middle Size businesses and the Russian Company I-Plat signed an agreement with Azeri companies Klinfiks and İSE MANAGEMENT.
