Dear Orthodox citizens!
From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on Christmas.
This holy celebration is filled with the most important and secret desires and aspirations - for spiritual rebirth, truth, goodness and justice.
The Nativity of Christ proclaims eternal truths understandable to everyone - the inviolability of family values, the joy of motherhood and the purity of children's thoughts, inspiring believers to charitable deeds and merciful acts.
It is gratifying that one of the world-famous symbols of the capital of our multinational republic is the especially revered Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, to the miraculous list of which - in the revived cathedral - pilgrims from different parts of our country and from all over the world flock.
In Tatarstan, where representatives of different nationalities and faiths live in peace and harmony, our common desire for fruitful interaction and creativity is most valued. At such difficult time, it is especially important to preserve the spiritual wealth accumulated over many centuries of joint history - the unity of deeds and thoughts, good-neighbourliness and mutual understanding, and faith in a better future. It takes on a special meaning in the Year of National Cultures and Traditions
I sincerely hope that 2023 will be rich in good deeds and achievements, and each of us will make contribution to the spiritual development of Tatarstan society. I sincerely wish you a joyful Christmas mood, optimism, good health, kindness and prosperity!
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov
