Rustam Minnikhanov at a meeting of the organizing committee of the Games of the Future: Our republic is ready to hold all events at the high organizational level
On 6 February Rais (the Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting of the regional organizing committee for preparation and holding the International multi-sports tournament the Games of the Future held in the Government house of the republic with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitriy Chernyshenko joining the meeting via videoconference.
The key note speakers of the meeting were the First Russian Deputy Minister of Sports Azat Kadyrov, Director General of the World Games of the Future Igor Stolyarov and Director General of the Agency for development of computer and other kinds of sports Anton Kara.
Speaking at the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov said: “The Games of the Future to be first held in Kazan in 2024 is an innovative project combining digital technologies and physical activities”. He expressed his gratitude to the administration of the country for the vested confidence and possibility to host the games in Tatarstan. “Our republic is ready to host the Games of the Future, hold all events at the high organizational level and fulfill all liabilities,” he said.
In his turn Dmitriy Chernyshenko said that Tatarstan is one of the most experienced entities of the federation in organizing and hosting events including international ones. According to him, Tatarstan demonstrates the highest level of readiness from the point of view of organization and use of technologies as it has all necessary infrastructure. He also reminded that during his working trip to Kazan in autumn of 2022 he together with Rustam Minnikhanov visited test competitions of the Games of the Future. “Then the tournament technologies were tested and the coverage of test events was quite impressive, everything was rather commendable,” he said.
The First Russian Deputy Minister of Sports Azat Kadyrov informed that the work in holding such competitions started in 2021 and there has been the process of their integration with traditional kinds of sports. Currently their rules are undergoing improvements and accreditation of regional federations.
Rustam Minnikhanov also informed that a number of inspections have been carried out in Kazan and clarified that “after five such inspections the organizing committee received proposals and remarks from the Agency and we are working them out. We are doing continuous efforts preparing for the Games. The republic has all necessary resources for this”.
Tatarstan Rais also stressed that the region works in close cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Sports.

Kazan won the bid for hosting the Games of the Future on 17 July 2022 and the Tatarstan Government, the Agency on Development of computer Sports and the Direction of Sports and Social Projects signed an agreement on organizing and holding the Games on 20 September 2022.
