On 2 February Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the first meeting of the organizing committee of the International Economic Forum “Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum” held by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on Moscow.
Speaking at the meeting, Marat Khusnullin stated that currently strengthening of multi-lateral relations plays crucial role in social and economic development of our country. “Russia continues ramping up a dialogue with Muslim countries and strengthening our economic and friendly relations. We can say for sure that these relations open new prospects. We can see the support from Islamic countries, their profound understanding of our position and readiness for constructive interaction,” he said.
Having stressed that the KazanForum is rightly considered to be a unique platform, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister called for keeping and strengthening the foundation of the Russia-Islamic dialogue.
In his turn Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of mutually beneficial cooperation of Russia with the Islamic world is one of priorities stated by the administration of the country. And the KazanForum first held in 2009 is the main venue for economic interaction. “We consider the forum as an important constituent part of big work done by the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group which I am the head of by the errand from the President of the country,” he said.
He informed about work being done for preparing the business programme of the forum and for providing praying rooms and maintaining the Halal principles. “I am sure together we will organize the forthcoming KazanForum at the high level,” Rustam Minnikhanov added.
