On March 3, during his working visit to Tajikistan, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon.
The day before, as part of the Russian delegation, headed by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin, he took part in the 9th Conference on Interregional Cooperation “Business and Investment Partnership between Russia and Tajikistan”. Emomali Rahmon warmly welcomed Rustam Minnikhanov and emphasized the desire to develop contacts on the establishment of trade, economic and humanitarian relations.
At the end of 2022, there is an increase in trade turnover between Tatarstan and Tajikistan by 57 percent, it amounted to 30.7 million US dollars.
“The exchange of visits gives a good impetus to increasing cooperation in all areas. A number of Tatarstan enterprises already supply their products to Tajikistan. I think it is necessary to promote interaction in the trade and economic sphere,” Minnikhanov emphasized.
During the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov focused on the work of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which he has been heading having on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Group brings together politicians and representatives of business, science and the clergy who have authority and influence in their countries.
“We are grateful for the contribution of your country to the work of the Group,” Minnikhanov said. Taking the opportunity, he invited the delegation of Tajikistan to the International Economic Forum "Russia-Islamic World: KazanForum", which will be held in Kazan on May 18-19, 2023.
