From March 8 to 12, Kazan will host the Russian Gymnastics Championship — one of the most important and brightest starts of the season.
More than 200 participants, including Tokyo Olympic champions, world and European champions, will compete for 14 sets of awards.
Olympians Nikita Nagorny, Alexander Kartsev, Artur Dalaloyan and David Belyavsky will compete in the men's all-around. Vladislav Polyashov and Denis Ablyazin will compete for gold in separate types of the program.
No less interesting will be the women's all-around. Three Olympic champions at once — Angelina Melnikova, Victoria Listunova and Vladislav Urazova — will delight the Kazan audience with their performances.
This year, the Republic of Tatarstan will be represented by 11 gymnasts at the national championship. Among them are athletes who are part of the Russian national team: Daniel Marinov and Daniil Novikov, as well as the winners and prize-winners of the Spartakiad of the strongest: Ivan Antonikhin and Stanislav Isaev.
