"Ski Track of Russia" in Kazan this year will be held at five venues
The start of the "Ski Track of Russia" in Tatarstan will take place on February 11. In Kazan, the races will be held at five venues: the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky Forest, the floodplain of the Kazanka River along Gavrilova Street, Komsomolskoye Lake in Derbyshki, the Lokomotiv stadium in the village of Yudino and the Mirny ski and biathlon complex. This was announced today at a press conference in Tatar-inform by Deputy Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Sadriev.
"In our country, the "Ski Track of Russia" will be held for the 41st time. All districts of the republic will participate in it. Cross—country skiing in Tatarstan is one of the most popular sports. Last year, about 130 thousand residents of the region came to the start, this year we expect that their number will not be less," the speaker added.
The Mirny Ski and biathlon Complex will host the Ski Track of Russia for the first time. There will be races for professional athletes at a distance of 5 and 10 kilometers at 10 o'clock in the morning, and the mass start is scheduled for 12.30, schoolchildren and students are invited to it. A start for people with disabilities and a leadership race will be organized separately.
In Kazan, to participate in the mass race, you need to pre-register at the press center of the Central Stadium at 5 Tashayak Street. Registration will continue until February 10, there will be issued numbers and branded caps "Ski Trails of Russia", Chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports of the capital of Tatarstan Linar Garipov added.
"Everyone can come, register, get their number and the symbol of the "Ski Track of Russia" — a hat. The number of attributes is limited, so please hurry up and visit the press center of the Central Stadium as soon as possible," he explained.
The innovation of the "Ski Track of Russia" this year will be the holding of mass races in each school. Not only the students themselves, but also their parents and teachers will be invited to participate, Linar Zimfirovich said.
The schedule of mass starts at Kazan venues: at the Mirny ski and biathlon complex - at 10.00, at Komsomolsk Lake in Derbyshki — at 10.00, in Gorkinsko—Ometyevsky forest - at 10.45, at the Lokomotiv stadium in the village of Yudino - at 9.00. In the floodplain of the Kazanka river on Gavrilova Street at 10.30 there will be a grand opening, after which the start will be given.
