On March 22, in the Kazan Kremlin, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed in state awards to workers of culture and art.
Minnikhanov congratulated the laureates on the upcoming professional holiday - the Day of the Cultural Worker. He emphasized that culture is a fundamental pillar of society, serves to strengthen cohesion, preserve interethnic peace and harmony, and also makes a unique contribution to the upbringing of the younger generation.
Minnikhanov said that 2023 was declared the Year of National Cultures and Traditions in Tatarstan: «This once again underlines the importance of preserving the cultural traditions, the identity of the peoples of the republic, the need to unite efforts to ensure that the cultural heritage and memory of ancestors, the uniqueness of each people continue in future generations».
Before the awarding ceremony, at the Government Offices, a meeting of the Council for Culture and Art under the Rais of Tatarstan was held.
Large-scale measures to support the cultural industry are being implemented in Tatarstan. Active work is carried out under the national project "Culture". In the past 2 years, over 2 billion roubles of federal support has been attracted. Under the regional programmes, rural houses of culture and children's art schools are being repaired, theaters and rural clubs are being built.
