Rustam Minnikhanov meets Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow in Ashgabat
On 5 April at their meeting in Ashgabat, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who came to Turkmenistan on a one day working visit, and the Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow discussed issues of broadening cooperation.
As it was stated at the meeting, the results of the last year trade turnover do not correspond to the potential which both countries have. Currently a number of large Tatarstan machine-building and petrochemical companies are present in Turkmenistan.
“Cooperation with the Islamic world has always been one of the main directions of external economic and international relations of Tatarstan. The main platform of the economic interaction is the forum ”Russia-Islamic world: KazanForum,” Rustam Minnikhanov said and invited a delegation from Turkmenistan to attend this event.
