More than 2000 karate players from Russia and foreign countries will compete at the international and All-Russian competitions "Ak Bars Cup"

From April 6 to 10, the Ak Bars international and All-Russian karate competitions "Ak Bars Cup", as well as the interregional tournament "Young Bars" will be held in Kazan at the Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace. The Ak Bars Cup competition is an annual tournament that will be held for the 11th time this year, but for the first time it will have international status for participants of the age category 18 years and older. Athletes will compete for awards in the disciplines of kata and kata group in different age and weight categories.

More than 2,000 karate players from Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Armenia and the Republic of Belarus will take part in the competition. Among the athletes who will fight for the medals of the tournament are the current world champion Dastonbek Otabolave, winners and prize-winners of the Asian Championship Rafael Akbarov, Nurlanbek Uulu Kalys, Abdallah Valadi, silver medalist of the European Championship Anton Isakov and others.

Tatarstan will be represented at the international tournament by about 15 athletes, including Russian champions Daniil Danilov and Rustem Fatykhov, as well as the winner of the 2022 Cup of Russia Ilya Savin. In total, 130 athletes of the Republic of Tatarstan will take part in international and All-Russian competitions.

The grand opening of the international and All-Russian karate competitions "Ak Bars Cup" will take place on April 8 at 13:00.

In addition to the competitive part, the tournament will host a judging seminar on the rules of the International Karate Federation (version 2023) on kata and kumite. The speakers of the seminar are Chairman of the FKR Judicial Committee Sharaputdin Magomedov, Chairman of the Judicial Committee of the Asian Karate Federation Mansur Al–Sultan and WKF international category judge Askar Moldagali.

The tournament was organized by the All-Russian Sports Public Organization "Karate Federation of Russia", the Regional sports Public Organization "Karate Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan" with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan.
