In his congratulation with Eid al-Fitr the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Dear Tatarstan residents! Dear compatriots! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you with the end of the Lent and Eid al-Fitr . For millions of Muslims the sacred month of Ramadan has been always filled with spiritual self-perfecting and merciful deeds.
Today as ever representatives of the Muslim Umma of the republic make a substantial contribution into strengthening of moral values of our society, inter-ethnic and inter-confessional peace and concord, work for charitable causes and carry out spiritual and enlightening activity.
In this time difficult for our country it is especially important to stay true to traditional ideals and values, the source of which for all real Muslims is Quran. Strengthening faith, morality and responsibility for their families in people we are creating the future of the country. This is exceptionally true in the year of national cultures and traditions announced in Tatarstan.
Quite recently Muslims of the republic and the whole of Russia celebrated the important historical anniversary at the state level - the 1100th year of adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria. I am sure many beginnings and projects of the anniversary year will have their descent continuation and development.
