Rais of Tatarstan meets the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade
On 8 May on the sidelines of the12th Annual Investment Forum AIM Global 2023 held in Abu Dhabi, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
As the parties have already met many times the meeting went in a friendly atmosphere, and Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the possibility to meet him again and to take part in the Forum.
“Ties between Russia and the UAE in economic and cultural and humanitarian spheres are broadening, tight coordination in global and regional issues is maintained and the trade and investments cooperation continues growing. With the absolute pleasure I can state the good growth of Russian-Emirates trade turnover which made nearly 6bn US dollars last year with the 10% growth,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. “At its level Tatarstan actively fosters strengthening of Russia-Emirates relations. Visits of our delegations to your country have become a good tradition. We have regular meetings with the Government of the UAE. Today the Emirates are one of the most attractive partners for developing economic contacts. Business circles of your country are permanent participants of the International Economic Forum of Russia and the OIC countries KazanForum. We are expecting your delegation to come this year as well,” he added.
The parties discussed issues of participation of the delegation from the UAE in the KazanForum and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi informed that he personally is planning to take part and head an UAE delegation of businessmen and representatives of state bodies.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked his interlocutor and assured that Tatarstan will be happy to host any UAE delegation.
