The Koresh belt wrestling championship and World Championship will be held in Tatarstan

From June 23 to June 26, the Republic of Tatarstan will host the World Championship and the world championship among young men in belt wrestling koresh 2023. More than 200 athletes from 27 countries of the world have been announced for the competition. In total, 11 sets of awards will be played in the championship and the World Championship among boys under 18 and men in the weight categories from 60 kg to over 130 kg and the absolute weight category.

Preliminary duels will be held in the sports complex "Saba Arena" in the village of Rich Saba of the Republic of Tatarstan, and the final duels and celebrations will take place at the specialized site of the MINGER ethno-festival in the village of Minger of the Sabinsky district of Tatarstan on June 24 at 19:00. Four-time Olympic champion Alexander Popov, as well as Olympic champions Alexey Mishin, Murat Kardanov and Shamil Khisamutdinov will be honored guests of the events.

In the final part of the competition, the decisive matches of the World koresh championship in 11 weight categories will be held, as well as the finals of international sumo competitions and world championships in new disciplines: beach koresh (wrestling on a sandy surface) and koresh on horseback (belt wrestling on horseback).

The winner of the absolute weight category of the Koresh World Championship will receive the main prize of the competition – a car provided by the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
