Rustam Minnikhanov: At its level Tatarstan is striving to make a contribution into the development of Russia-Bahrain relations

On 31 August, speaking at his meeting with theMinister of Oil and Environment of the Kingdom of Bahrain Doctor Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina on the sidelines of the Tatarstan Oil-Gas and Chemistry Forum at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Russia attaches great attention to interaction with Bahrain. “Similar positions to the broad circle of international and regional problems and their desire to solve the conflict situations and counteract threats are bringing leaders of our countries closer,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. 

He stated that Russia considers the Kingdom to be an important trade a, economic and investments partner in the Middle East region. “At its level Tatarstan is striving to make a contribution into the development of cooperation with your country within  Russia-Bahrain relations. We feel constant attention of the King of Bahrain His Majesty Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Tatarstan and are sincerely grateful for his support,” the Rais of the republic said. 

Having said that delegations from Bahrain are permanent participants of the International Economic Forum KazanForum and meetings of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic World”, Rustam Minnikhanov said it is necessary to ramp up relations in trade and economy. 

Having informed, that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed oldest oil producing regions of Russia, which produced 3.5bn tonnes of oil since 1943, the Rais of the republic added: “Tatarstan is a machine-building republic. We manufacture cars, planes, ships and other machine-building products. We export half of the products and we are the largest agricultural producer. So we have many spheres for cooperation.” 

The Bahrain Minister thanked the Rais of the republic for the warm welcome and told him about work of the Bahrain delegation at the forum. “We have had negotiations with many companies which are taking part in today’s exhibition. We think it gives a unique opportunity for starting joint work with Tatarstan companies. We are interested in developing interaction with partners from your republic,” he concluded.
