Address of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the occasion of the Day of the Constitution of Tatarstan

Dear Tatarstan residents!

I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan!

The fundamental document adopted at the turn of the epoch was an expression of the will of the multi-ethnic people of the republic and their desire to preserve stability and strengthen socio-economic development. The Basic Law made it possible to organize efficient work of state and local authorities aimed at ensuring a decent life for citizens. The norms and regulations adopted in 1992 reflect the commitment of Tatarstan residents to traditional spiritual, moral and family values. The Constitution united us, contributed to the spiritual revival and development of ethnocultural and linguistic diversity, and became a guideline for public, national, cultural and religious associations. Together, we have preserved interethnic and interfaith harmony. We restored shrines, architectural and historical monuments on a parity basis.

The amendments adopted this year by the State Council of Tatarstan show that the Basic Law always corresponds to the spirit of the times. At the same time, the priority of protecting the rights and freedoms of man and citizen remains unchanged, regardless of its origin, race and nationality, gender, place of residence and other circumstances. Due to the creative work of Tatarstan residents, the growth of the economy continues the development of our republic and all social obligations are fulfilled. Positive changes would not have been possible without the support of the country’s leadership and the concern of the State for citizens. These days, when our defenders of the Fatherland in battles defend the free future and independence of our Motherland, we are proud of countrymen and believe in Victory.
