New Year Address from Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov

In his New Year Address the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said: “Dear friends we are welcoming our favourite holiday – the New Year with special joy and hope.

2024 has been declared the year of the Family in Russia which gives it a special symbolism as the New Year is a family holiday first of all. The family is the foundation of any society and it is why Tatarstan cares very much about family values and traditions which developed historically at our land.

We attach special attention to issues of preservation and development of cultural and language diversity of ethnicities living in Tatarstan and of strengthening spiritual and moral norms. Due to respectful attitude to each other representatives of various ethnicities and confessions live in peace and concord and Tatarstan is marked for high level of integrity of the society and civic unity.”

Rustam Minnikhanov also expressed gratitude to defenders of Fatherland, who “far away from home are providing security of our Motherland and the future for growing generations,” and said: “Our compatriots are real heroes. We will continue providing all necessary help to our warriors and support their near and dear ones. We will win!”

He highly appreciated the role of volunteers who help everyone who needs this including residents of Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye.

“Dear Tatarstan residents! The departing year was not simple but we stand firm on the ground,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued and stated that results of 2023 show growth of the amount of GRP, construction work, retail trade and investments.

He also informed that 2024 has been declared the Year of Scientific and Technological development in the republic and mentioned large scale events to be held in Kazan in 2024 such as a meeting of heads of BRICKS countries and BRICKS sports games, the multi-sport tournament of the Games of the Future, the KazanForum, Kazan Digital Week 2024 and others.

“On top of that 2024 is the year of the most important political events such as the Russian Presidential elections and elections of members of the Tatarstan State Council. I count on Tatarstan electorate to take an active part in casting their votes and making a responsible choice for the good of development of our country and the republic,” the address went on.

In conclusion Rustam Minnikhanov wished everyone good health, prosperity and happiness and congratulated with the New Year.
