Tatarstan President arrives in the Kingdom of Bahrain

On April 7, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working visit in the Kingdom of Bahrain, was met by the cousin of the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa and Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Vagif Garaev and other officials at the International airport of Manama.

The authorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain organized a brief meeting ceremony as a sign of respect to the honored guest. Then, a short conversation with senior officials of Bahrain was held in the meeting room of government delegations at the airport.

During his visit, Tatarstan President will hold working meetings with Prime Minister of Bahrain Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and other representatives of official authority and business of this Arab country.

After the working meetings, Minnikhanov plans to have sightseeing tour of the historical district of Mukharraq in the Old City to get acquainted with the exhibition “Muharraq - the capital of the Islamic World 2018”. At the invitation of the King, Tatarstan President intends to visit the Grand Prix of Bahrain - one of the rounds the Formula 1 World Championship in auto racing.

Tatarstan is interested in attracting investments from the Kingdom of Bahrain and establishing cooperation in the field of "halal lifestyle", including "partner banking". The traditional for our region direction is the development of cooperation in the area of sharing technologies in the petrochemical industry. In addition, Tatarstan is interested in new shipments of products of the enterprises of the machine-building complex of the republic to Bahrain.

Tatarstan will propose to Bahrain the cooperation in the area of agriculture and food, as well as to establish contacts in science, education, culture, sports and tourism. Active interaction as part of international formats under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation or the Strategic Vision Group for  Russia and the Islamic World, whose Chairman on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin is Rustam Minnikhanov, would be useful for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.
