Rustam Minnikhanov: Despite the foreign policy impacts, our Islamic partners stay with us

On May 10, speaking at the press conference of the 10th International Economic Summit “Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit”, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Russia's partners from the countries of the Islamic world continue to support the country, despite all foreign policy problems.

“Despite all foreign policy impacts, our partners from Islamic countries are with us. We have the access to finance through Islamic banking and the promotion of new products in our country. But all this requires certain measures that we should do. The products must have an international certificate. The most important thing is powerful partners. Tatarstan cannot cope with alone; we should talk about the country as a whole. We are supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian President supports us,” Minnikhanov said.

Tatarstan President urged to work more aggressively with such institutions of Islamic financing as the Islamic Development Bank, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Islamic Bank of Dubai, etc.

“I think that the goals and tasks set by the summit are being fulfilled. The most important thing is that no one forces anyone. The people came on their own wish, because they are interested in,” Minnikhanov summed up.

He also emphasized that the republic is making every effort to maintain its business relations with European partners. He added that at the regional level, there are no difficulties between Tatarstan companies and partners from the European Union and the United States of America, many businesses are operating normally.
