Rustam Minnikhanov meets the delegation of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the KazanSummit

On May 10, on the sidelines of the 10th International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with the delegation of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting discussed issues of further strengthening the cooperation between Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia. In particular, the interaction as part of Russia – the Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, the next meeting of which will be held in the largest country of the Arabian Peninsula this year, was touched upon.

Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia Abdullah Haydan, who took part in the meeting, noted excellent arrangements made to organizes the KazanSummit forum. "This site is a link between the business community of Tatarstan and Saudi Arabia. In its turn, Tatarstan acts as a bridge in strengthening Russian-Saudi relations,” he stressed.

Minnikhanov said that he is grateful that Saudi Arabia has sent a very representative delegation to Kazan, including businessmen and public figures.

Tatarstan President also expressed his hope that the Minister of Commerce and Investment of Saudi Arabia Majed Kassabi will also be able to visit Kazan.

Saudi Ambassador to Russia Raed Qrimli, who also took part in the meeting, said that the King of Saudi Arabia remembers two meetings with Minnikhanov. "These meetings have made a great contribution to the strengthening and development of relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia," the ambassador said.
