On January 22, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who is a member the official Russian delegation led by Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maksim Oreshkin, took part in events at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), the main theme of which is “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution'.
At their meeting on the sidelines of the forum, Minnikhanov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbolat Dossaev discussed prospects for the development of cooperation and the strengthening of trade and economic ties.
Then, Minnikhanov attended a number of strategic sessions. The Future of Energy session considered the development of alternative energy sources. In particular, speakers predicted that wind and solar energy will occupy almost half of the global energy by 2050.
At an event dedicated to the digital economy, representatives of leading IT companies discussed which changes in technology, social sphere and politics will have a direct impact on further formation of this industry.
Tatarstan President also attended a session on the formation of globalization during the fourth industrial revolution and the specifics of the interaction of all participants in this process.
This year, the World Economic Forum n Davos brought together leaders of dozens of countries and representatives of big business - more than 3,000 participants from 110 countries.
