Tatarstan President and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan hold Tatarstan – Uzbekistan business forum
On November 26, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the Tatarstan-Uzbekistan business forum.
Before the event, Minnikhanov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev, who is responsible trade and foreign economic cooperation in the Government of Uzbekistan, held a bilateral meeting.
Minnikhanov thanked Ganiev for the meeting and participation in the business forum. “I hope that the visit of our delegation will contribute to the further development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan, aimed at strengthening relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan,” he said.
Minnikhanov emphasized that after his meeting with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and the regions of Uzbekistan shows the dynamic growth from year to year.
Tatarstan President pointed out that the purpose of the current visit is to strengthen these achievements and outline new areas for the development of cooperation.
Opening the forum, Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for their attention and support given to the development of inter-regional cooperation.
“Today we are pleased to present the economic potential of Tatarstan. Our republic focuses on the development of cooperation with Uzbekistan, and we will be glad to expand mutually beneficial ties,” Minnikhanov said.
Then he briefed about the development of mutual cooperation between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan and gave a number of positive examples.
Minnikhanov invited representatives of the business community of Uzbekistan led by Ganiev to visit the Republic of Tatarstan to look into the industrial and economic potential of the region.
Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Albert Karimov made a detailed report about the industrial potential of Tatarstan at the forum.
Chairman of the regional State Committee for Tourism Sergey Ivanov and Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulova told the forum participants about the tourism potential of the two republics.
A number of cooperation agreements between enterprises of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan were signed at the end of the forum.
